I'm posting this to help inform unsuspecting people looking to support our Law Enforcement personnel.

Anyhow, I'm sure my fellow Texans has at one point received a letter or phone call from the Texas State Troopers Association. These people are relentless in pursuing me or my wife asking for donations. They switch phone numbers and will not leave a msg stating who they are nor will they talk to anyone but the person their calling for. Well I got to looking around and it seem the Texas State Troopers Association is a real origination BUT.60 cent of every dollar collected is paid to the Telemarketers who are the ones making the calls!

Further more, donors donated 3,591,832 and the Texas State Troopers Association spent 2,785,974 of that money on Fund-raising. This money was supposed to be used to help officers who has falling in the line of duty, their family members and or training. Instead, the Texas State Troopers Association Tax records for that year state they spent 853,618 on troops who can better improve their employment...primarily Lobbying!

I've been working pretty hard on mine for about a week now and it's not at all what I expected! I started this project with the idea of tracing our Indian heritage but so far I haven't found anything linking us to one tribe. Now what I have found is very interesting and some what weird. I have trace some relatives dating back to Philadelphia Pennsylvania just before the signing of the Declaration of Independence. I even ran across records showing a couple of family members listed on some Revolusionary rolls: flag

Now for the weird, it seems my Great Grand mother and my Great Great Grand parents are all decedents of royalty. I'm talking Kings, Queens, Knights, and even some Roman Emperors...including some Caesar's :eek

This is really turning into a project so I'm going to seek professional help. So I;m going to hire someone to double check all this and put it together. Then I'm going to have it made into a book. My father in law has already done this for his side of the family. So once I'm done our son should have a pretty good idea of his heritage.

Let us post some facts about the entire subject of the CHL in Texas.
I'll start. Here is a good link to the history of events that led up to Texans being required to posess a Lisence that contains the exact same info your Drivers Lisence has. TCHA: CHL History

At the end of the article, it makes a statement leading up to the event from 1996 through 12 years of CHL lisence requirments. It states,

"Twelve years after CHL program started, with 1,500 instructors and over 300,000 active CHLs, the Texas violent crime rate continues to drop. As happened in all the other CHL states, concealed carry is working just fine."

What I want to see, is a comparison to todays dates!! Read about the crime that happens daily in place like Corpus Christi!! Form the beginning of the 1996 CHL requirment to the date political figures are refering to, the Texas economy was doing pretty damn well. Fact, the Texas economy started to really excel from 1998 all the way to 2008, when this article was written!
I want to compair 2008 to 2010, to the crime rates prior to 1996. You know, as compaired to a time when the Texas economy wasnt doing to well.

A man accused of raping two children in south Charlotte Sunday night has been flagged as an illegal immigrant in Mecklenburg jail.
Ricardo Velasquez was in jail late Wednesday. He was given a $170,000 bond but was also being held by immigration authorities after sheriff's deputies identified him as an illegal immigrant under the 287(g) program.

Velasquez has three previous convictions for driving while impaired dating to 1997, according to a search of N.C. court records. He has also been found guilty of interfering with an emergency communication three times.
