I have a Lab and she goes nuts when you pick up a gun. This old girl only wants to work for you. She'll run herself to death for you if you let her. I have had a few people act like shit to my dog. My dog is easy to manage and is the greatest thing around kids. People who have a problem with my dog get a bigger problem with me. I dont allow my dog to bother anyone who doesnt want her to. Anyone comes around my place and acts like shit to her is fixin to get an ass woopin! She'll get the ball for you all day long, do all the tricks for you, then go lay down when told to. Nobody has any reason to punk out on my dog.
Hell I even lost a girlfriend over my dog getting in the bed. I told her I had the dog first and the dog stays!! I cant sleep if the dog aint next to my feet!
If it were me I would have one less friend if he couldnt act better to my dog. What kinda man cant get along with a retriever? Training a retriever is one of the greatest things when you finally get to the " That's It!" point. When you connect with the dog and it begins to understand you, man that's a wonderful thing! Not everyone can do that. It takes a lot of determination and a lot of chewed up shit!

wow...how can a guy not love a dog?

I've never been bird hunting with a dog but I have owned a lot of your hunting breeds like Labs and Britney Spaniels and talking about some smart good loving animals. Hell, I would love to own one again but my wife is allergic to everything known to mankind. So now I have a small non-allergenic toy size dog.

Whoever said "a dog is man`s best friend" wasn`t lying! I don`t own a dog,but my friend and next door neighbors dog loves me. He`s mostly golden lab and something else and the friendliest critter on the face of this earth! That dog will do anything for attention. He is still young and chews up stuff, but you have to expect that. The rewards he has greatly outway his very minor faults. He is a joy to have around. He hasn`t hunted yet,but he`ll point and we`ve never taught him to do it. I can`t wait to take him on his first trip next year!

Looks like a GREAT day of hunting! I`ve never had goose,I`ll have to try it someday. Sounds like it would be delectable.

I read some where that PETA was trying to put Geese on the endangered species list because there are so many different species within the flocks?

I thought, these people are nuts, there so many Geese now in place where they are not allowed to be shot there is so much goose poop you can't walk without steppin in it and it is becoming a biohazard because their poop is acidic or something like that and they can actually contaminate small ponds.
